London’s Soho has taken on many iterations, acting as a meeting point in which to drink, see live entertainment, go shopping – and of course, all with a touch of risqué magic. A knot of streets and run-throughs that’s still home to clubs, traders, bars, a thriving gay community and much more besides, its 1950s heritage as a beatnik hangout is preceded - perhaps ironically - as a haunt of the aristocracy decades before. Surrounded by theatreland, this one square mile of excess and frivolity is as vibrant today as the characters that have repeatedly frequented it.
