"I came up with the idea for this print watching the barn owls swoop around the field at my parents' house. The aesthetic takes inspiration from old German educational charts as well as the display of a large variety of owl species in an exhibition at Scarborough Museum. I had fun with the mark making in this one, experimenting with different ways of layering up textures and colours on the owls' fine plumage."
