Collection: Original Prints from the Penfold Press

We refer to all the prints made at the Penfold Press as Original Prints. An Original Print is not a copy of a pre-existing image, this would be referred to as a 'reproduction', rather it is a piece of art that has been conceived by the artist as a print and exists due to the artist working directly with either screen, plate or block to create an image. The final artwork is printed by hand under the artist's supervision, with one layer of colour printed on top of the other until the image is finished. This process is repeated until the required number of prints are completed to fulfil the edition. Once complete, the print is signed and numbered by the artist. Finally, all materials associated with the making of the print are destroyed so that the image will never be reprinted.
