Mark's most ambitious linocut to date, Salad Days was printed from three separate blocks. This multi-plate approach to printing was inspired by Edward Bawden and in particular his hands-on approach to the printing of individual elements. Mark's approach incorporates the deliberate under inking of specific areas to create texture, alongside rich transparent colours. The results are a wonderfully 'inky' celebration of the humble vegetable patch.
